Central Bobcats Name C.J. Villegas New Boys Head Basketball Coach

The San Angelo Central Bobcats boys basketball team has found their new head coach in C.J. Villegas.

Villegas, who replaces Dustin Faught who accepted the head coaching position at Midland, was an assistant at Frenship last season. The Tigers were 2020 area champions.

Villegas has 12 years of head coaching experience, leading his team at Hereford ISD to three consecutive playoff appearances from 2014-2016. Before that he lead Olton to the 2012 state tournament.

Villegas, a Brady native and McMurry University graduate, was recently elected as 2nd Vice President of the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC).
