#AthleteRecognition – 2020 Christoval Cougars Multi-Sport Athlete Azul Salinas

CSN is featuring student-athletes from across the Concho Valley and today we recognize Christoval Cougars senior Azul Salinas. Azul is one of the most accomplished multi-sport athletes in our area. He has played football, basketball, and baseball in his high school career.

As a 6’1″ G/F in basketball, Azul was district 7-2A Co-MVP, on the West Texas Super Team, and was named West Texas Super Team 2A Offensive Player of the Year. He was also chosen for FCA All-Stars in basketball. He was also Academic All-District every year. As a baseball player he played shortstop. He also went to state in DECA as a junior. He has been a baseball umpire and referee and coach for amateur basketball.

Azul is in Ag mechanics, floral design, and pre-AP classes. He will attend ASU for business after graduation. He even has a full-time job.
