#AthleteRecognition – Central sophomore basketball & track and field star Layla Young

Next up in our #AthleteRecognition series we’re recognizing Central sophomore basketball and track and field star Layla Young!

Layla was second-team all-district in basketball as a freshman. In track and field she was an area and a regional qualifier in shot put as a freshman.

She was first team all-district and All-West Texas in basketball as a sophomore.

Layla has also volunteered at the Boys and Girls club for the past two summers and has dual/AP credits.

We wish Layla the best of luck in her junior and senior seasons and can’t wait to see what she and the Lady Cats accomplish!
